چکیده

This article presents a radar cross-section (RCS)-based statistical recognition system for identifying/classifying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at microwave frequencies. First, the results of vertical (VV) and horizontal (HH) polarization RCS measurement six commercial UAVs 15 25 GHz in compact range anechoic chamber. The show that average depends on shape, size, material composition target UAV as well azimuth angle, frequency, illuminating radar. Afterward, characterization is achieved by fitting data to 11 different models. From model selection analysis, we observe lognormal, generalized extreme value, gamma distributions are most suitable modeling while Gaussian distribution performed relatively poorly. best statistics forms class conditional probability densities proposed system. performance evaluated signal noise ratio (SNR) with aid Monte Carlo analysis. At an SNR 10 dB, classification accuracy 97.60% or better achievable.

A Radar Cross-Section Model for Power Lines at Millimeter-Wave Frequencies

The knowledge of radar backscatter characteristics of high-voltage power lines is of great importance in the development of a millimeter-wave wire detection system. In this paper, a very high-frequency technique based on an iterative physical optics approach is developed for predicting polarimetric radar backscattering behavior of power lines of arbitrary strand arrangement. In the proposed sca...

Monopole Antenna Radar Cross Section Reduction with Plasma Helix

In this paper, a new method for radar cross section reduction of a monopole antenna is proposed. In this method, a plasma helix like fluorescent bulbs is placed around the antenna element. The selected plasma parameter for this medium acts as an absorber without disturbing the antenna performance. The simulations show that radar cross section of simulated antenna is reduced in a wide frequency ...

Radar Cross-Section Estimation of SAR Images

We present an algorithm that is able to smooth out the speckle from many SAR images and which does not suuer from the drawbacks of multilooking. The algorithm is able to preserve the detail and resolution of the original image while producing a smooth, real-valued output. In many cases the quality of the smoothed image is suuciently high that it may be used with standard optical post-processing...

UHF RFID Tag Performance Evaluation based on Radar Cross Section

The passive ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID is being increasingly employed in various applications. The low-cost, long range and high data rate features making it an outstanding choice in contactless identification. Although, passive tag performance is likely to be affected by water and metal, tag packages and special tag designs are developed to minimize the effect of the environment. Tag perf...

Estimation of Radar Backscattering Coefficient of Soil Surface with Moisture Content at Microwave Frequencies

Co-plarized of radar backscattering coefficient 0 hh σ and 0 vv σ are estimated for soil surface using a standard theortical model IEM (Integrtion Eequation Model). The surface parameters for model are , dielectric constant and roughness, are determined by experimental technique. The real and imaginary parts ( ε' and ε") of dielectric constant of soil determine by wave guide cell method at a si...
